Vietnam Vacation - Seeing Ly Son Island.

From Quang Ngai Province, Ly Son Island can be reached out by railroad trains from Sa Ky fishing port at 8 a.m. every morning time. The island is distinguished for its huge garlic fields with a pungent aroma. That explains why Ly Son is called the realm of Allium sativum.

The island has a diverse ecosystem. It has five mounts, namely Thoi Loi, Gieng Tien, Hon Vung, Hon Soi and Hoi Tai. The magnificent mountains lure holidaymakers by mysterious caves, imposing falls, and first class rivers and lakes.

The mountainsides extended with dark green corn fields are studded with old, magical ruong menages. Along the mounts are sensational beaches full of coloured rocks, pebbles and corals.

Nuzzled in the Thoi Li Mountain is the Hang Pagoda, a peaceful sanctuary with ancient architecture skirted by beautiful scenery.

Not only accommodating respective worthful historical and cultural tokens, the Ly Son Island also comprehends legends associated with many folk and traditional festivals such as Tet (Viet Nam's New Year), boat race, hat boi (traditional Vietnamese opera), fish worshipping, and particularly observances to pay up court to solders who failed in conflicts in Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) islands.

The island is besides considered a living museum for Hoang Sa's artefacts. An Vinh Temple worships the ascendents who researched and reclaimed the kingdom four centuries ago. Ly Son can be reached out by train from Sa Ky sportfishing port, about 20km forth. The one-hour head trip by railroad train is VND70 ,000 per someone. A boat trip with local fishermen is cheap at VND40 ,000 to VND50 ,000.

Some invitee houses near the wharf are priced at VND80 ,000 per room per dark. In case they are full, local people can offer their families for economic rent.

In Ly Son, power is usable once every two nights from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.. In the summertime, tourists can camp on the beach to feel nature.
