Artist Picks Animal's Color Through Personality

By: rebort kiona

Tiny faces observe this female graphic artist as she gets some work done in her home office. She spends most of her time at her home handling form designs, creating print ads or coupons work that can be tedious and colorless. Through a screened door watched four dogs and four cats.

She suddenly discovered a new career after seeing those faces. During her trip to Texas to visit her parents, he looked at the animals' pictures and proceeded to put their images on canvas. She does not use the color of the animal per se in her painting, but the color that she feel through its personality.

Getting their essence is what she wants to achieve. Using color, I can recreate the animal's personality, but I must know it first. It was on a camping trip in Mississippi that she created her first painting, a mixed breed. The dog, which was red, was always by their side.

This dog was painted green because of its jealousy toward other animals. She's not the first person to use unusual colors for animal portraits. It was in 1984 that a cajun artist made a portrait of his deceased dog, painting him as a blue canine with red eyes.

The blue dog is highlighted in her paintings. There are those who are amused by the blue dog paintings, but the artist actually sees the paintings as a haunting interpretation of the loss he felt upon losing her. Each of the paintings, though quite humorous on the outside, actually have deep spiritual messages embedded in them. The questions that we have been asking ourselves for a long time are the same questions she asks us now.

She makes it a point to capture animal's very character in her artwork. The animals and their personalities are mirrored through her unusual patterns and vibrant colors. These animals were all alone before she came and rescued them. She also adopted a dog, the newest in the family, who was wandering from one house to another in the neighborhood.

She left fliers in local veterinarian offices last summer to market her pet portraits. She tells clients to provide her with photographs of the animal as well as a description of the animal's personality. She does not pick the colors until she first understands the animal. The portraits that she makes allow customers to find something for themselves, the owner said.

Her energetic personality was captured with they yellow paint. Portraits will be appreciated by people who know the subjects in the pictures, said a gallery owner. You can look at a portrait, but it's possible you wouldn't appreciate the artistic element of it.
