A person isn't automatically born with the knowledge and expertise to operate a enterprise from home. The skills can be figured out, regardless of age, gender, race, or socio-economic level. So look through peak performance training books from the public library, play motivational DVDs, read through motivational articles on the internet. Determine what you are not doing right in your company, what you need to do, and how you can do it. Then like the ad says, “Just do it!”

Low self confidence is another issue that rears its heads for those who perform at home. Too frequently, instances come where business lags, you need many more customers, more sales, a lot more work. And your brain starts thinking about those ‘lucky’ stiffs with employment who get paid holidays, sick days and payment throughout down times. And you begin feeling sorry for yourself. During these instances, it helps to write out your woes. Create a list of all that concerns you: lack of clients, lack of earnings, lack of time off. And then begin discovering alternatives and putting them to work. Schedule some enjoyable time off in the near future. And in the meantime, increase your marketing and sales campaigns. Crank out a new campaign for a new product. Do networking with several business contacts and work a joint venture together; two heads are much better than 1!

Being alone is an problem from time to time, too. Some folks miss company discussions and networking, so get out there and take a course and enroll in industry events. Consult with local groups and also the Chambers of Commerce in your area and sign up for events. Plan and go!

Making decisions could be tough occasionally. Working out how to grow your company, how to stay on top of things, how you can deal with financial messes and more…can all add up to a whole lot for a single person at home to handle. At occasions like these, hire help from a business coach. Search the net and ask around among colleagues for referrals. Two or three consulting sessions with somebody who’s “been there, done that” can push you farther ahead much faster.

Work on the preceding hints and your work at home job will seem a lot less tense and more gratifying.
